After two years at Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, NY, as an in house corporate photographer, Laurie moved to Philadelphia and formed Laurie Beck Photography. For the past 22 years she has been photographing people on location, for corporate clients as well as a host of private clients, in and around Philadelphia. Several years ago, Laurie added documentary wedding photography to her business. In addition to both her corporate and wedding work, she spends a great deal of time on her personal photography, working in a non-silver process call Gum Bichromate. She is a teaching assistant at University of The Arts in Philadelphia in non-silver and also sits on the board of First Person Arts, a non-profit organization that promotes documentary and memoir art in Philadelphia.

Laurie's corporate client list includes Living Beyond Breast Cancer, The Wellness Community National, Sports Illustrated, People Magazines, American Federation of Teachers, Smith Kline Glaxo, The William Penn Foundation, Syracuse University Alumni Magazine, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Temple University, Abington Memorial Hospital, numerous writes and musicians, and film stills. She has been a featured speaker at The Women in Photojournalism Conference, commencement speaker at The Art Institute of Philadelphia and judge of corporate juried photo competitions around Philadelphia.

Laurie holds degrees in photography from Syracuse University, from both the School of Visual and Performing Arts and SI Newhouse School of Public Communications.
